Janine Parrish
Associate Pastor
Janine has walked with Jesus since she was 8 years old and has served in many aspects of ministry for over 35 years. She's one of those rare Austin natives, as well as a University of Texas alumnus. She and her husband Ron have lived in California, Houston, Indonesia and Austin - and in each place she has used her gifts to partner with Ron and see others equipped and released to fulfill God's dreams for their lives. She thrives on interacting with people whether it's relaxing with her family, creatively brainstorming with a ministry team, praying with intercessors, sipping coffee in a mentoring relationship or up front teaching an equipping class. Her greatest delight is hearing her Father's whispers in quiet moments and then watching the life they bring as they are spoken to others.
Her specific areas of ministry at Hope in the City include pastoral care, overseeing the areas of guest integration, prayer ministry, equipping classes and pastoring women leaders. Her favorite pastimes include strolling with Ron through parks, plant nurseries or art galleries, sitting in a quiet corner of a garden with a book or creating an elaborate meal and then watching people enjoy it. Janine and Ron have three amazing, adult children, Heather, Melissa, and Bowen.
She is energized by lively conversations - is slightly opinionated -but avoids competition - is drawn to authenticity - despises 'masks' - is a major multi-tasker- loves seeing the jewel God has planted in a person's heart and then partnering with Him to see that rare treasure come forth.
