Update 10-23-08*:
My dad was released from ICU on Monday night, just shy of 1 week from his latest surgery! Yippie!!
He's starting to become mobile and is trying to work on getting his strength back. No news just yet on his stomach, but I am clinging to hope and have FAITH in in the Lord!
Thank you for all the prayers...
God Bless,
Chalene

Update on 10-10-08:
I would like to humbly ask the church to continue to pray for my father, Perry Noakes. He has been on an uphill battle this summer fighting for his life even at times. His first surgery was July 1st and 2 weeks later he was in ICU on a ventilator.
We asked for a bold sign of healing and then the doctors were able to remove some scar tissue from his lung and within weeks he was out of ICU and into rehab!
His stay at rehab was to get him off the ventilator and his improvements were so rapid and such a blessing. Each day he would advance by leaps and bounds that I truly saw a miracle happening right before my eyes. What was suppose to take weeks, took days, and before we knew it he had the tracheotomy removed. Than he started walking! The first day 25ft, the next 150 ft, than 300ft! Praise God, he's back!
After a couple weeks in rehab his stomach just wasn't right and so he was sent back to the hospital. The doctors have been monitoring him to see if the problem would pass but they found more scar tissue outside of his intestine. His options are to live without every eating again and be port fed or try another surgery. My dad, the fighter, decided to try another surgery.
I'm not sure when the surgery will be scheduled, probably next week, but I just want to ask for prayer for him, my mother, brother and the doctors.
I am so thankful for God, our church, and my hope group who have been supporting my throughout the painful this summer. I have faith that God will get us through this trial.
Again, thank you so very much.
God Bless,
Chalene
