From Susie Brooks at susanbbrooks@austin.rr.com:
Tony is receiving treatment at MD Anderson in Houston. They come home for the weekends. He has been given a five or six week leave from his job as teacher at Casis elementary. Maybe some of you saw the article in the Austin American Statesman recently, recounting how came to be a classroom teacher. He has had two operations to remove this tumor, the last one just this year in April.
Here is a portion of what Ruth wrote on the Caringbridge website
"The most recent MRI and CT scans show that the tumor has awakened and is growing as aggressive as ever. It has met the optic nerve and is entering the optic chiasm and pressing in on the fifth nerve (controls facial sensation).
Because of this, the treatment plan will focus its full-strength on about 90% of the tumor and only half-strength on the 10% that lies near vital areas."
Thanks for praying!
