Prayer

Prayer is the life-line of every Christian. We consider it so vital to our Body that everything - every activity, gathering or plan of the church is birthed and covered in prayer. We believe that every Christian has the joy of growing in intimacy with God and the power of using their authority in Christ through prayer. Although there are people in the Body who are specifically gifted and called to intercession, we encourage every believer to grow in prayer, both in their personal devotional times, as well as in times of corporate intercession. With this in mind, we not only provide regular opportunities for people to pray in our weekly gatherings, but also provide resources and training for individuals and the Body to be strengthened in prayer.

Sunday Morning Prayer

People gather at 9:30 to pray together for the service. This time, led by our pastor, Ron, is to listen together and pray specifically for the worship, speaker and needs of that morning's service. Everyone is welcome.

Prayer Room

We have a prayer room available 24/7 for members of our church. It is packed with resources for worship and intercession. If you'd like more information about availability and access, please call the office.

Pastoral Prayer Shields

Each pastor has a group of people who cover him/her in prayer. Ideally, the pastors keep in touch with these intercessors to keep them updated on their personal needs. If you are interested in praying consistently for one of our pastors, please contact them personally.

International Prayer Shield

Our International Prayer Shields meet to cover each of our overseas teams in prayer. Every second Sunday of the month we meet in the church office's at 8:30 a.m. for a time of worship, sharing testimonies from all the teams, and hearing a brief exhortation on prayer. At 9:00 a.m. we split up into individual prayer teams represented by the countries we serve and go to separate areas of the building to pray for specific team requests. Please join us as we contend for Jesus' Name being glorified in the nations of the Earth together.

If you are interested in being a part of an International prayer shield you can just show up or contact Don & Ame Cook. This is truly a powerful time of prayer!

Watchmen's Council

This a group of intercessors made up of those who lead or represent all of our prayer shields. They see themselves as responsible to stand on the wall to listen prophetically to what God is saying and to intercede for Hope in the City as well as our city. (Ezekiel 22: 30; Isaiah 62:6). This group gathers monthly and keeps in email contact. For more information, call Janine Parrish.

Prayer Initiatives

At various seasons throughout the year our church joins together to focus prayer on specific requests. Sometimes these are led by our church leadership in response to the Holy Spirit's guidance and sometimes we join millions of other Christians throughout the world in initiatives led by other prayer organizations. These prayer initiatives will be announced from the front on Sundays and prayer guides will be available either in the Connection Center or in Hope Groups.
