Why Hope Groups?
1. The Church in the New Testament gathered
in both large groups and small group communities. (Acts
2:46; 5:42; 20:20) Many of the churches
Paul addressed in his letters were gatherings of believers
who met in homes.
2. Relationships are essential for spiritual
growth. People best experience healthy, authentic relationships
in the context of a small group community (rather than
in a Sunday AM gathering).
3. People can best discover
and exercise their spiritual gifts in community.
4. Hope Groups are the ideal setting for leaders
to emerge. We are proactively recruiting, training and
empowering leaders to develop their skills in discipling,
pastoring and caring for the flock.
5. People can truly be nurtured an cared for
in a healthy community of Christ-followers.
6. Hope Groups are the ideal setting to learn
to become doers of the Word and not merely hearers (James
1:21-25) through applying spiritual truth in the context
of loving accountability.
7. Building strong healthy Hope Groups is the
only way we can live out the values (priorities) God
has given us and fulfill the purpose and vision to which
He has called us.
